Emphemeral ground

I refuse to mention the name and institution that hosted this event as a Political stand. Thanks to all the artists involved.

February&March 2018

Part of the group show A minute ago, Ephemeral Ground is a performance installation  transforming the space over 8 weeks through 7 distinct iterations, involving 8 performers and 5 sound artists. The installation utilized sand and mirrors as symbolic materials to explore the dual concepts of time in Ancient Greek philosophy: "Chronos" (sequential, quantitative time) and "Kairos" (the opportune, qualitative moment).

The project reflects on the permanence and ongoing transformation of Cyprus' divided situation. Through human intervention within the same space each week, the work draws attention to both the temporal and the eternal, symbolizing the tension between static transformation and the fleeting nature of time.
