Nasia Papavasiliou

Nasia Papavasiliou (b. 1993) is a multidisciplinary Cypriot artist working across performance, mediaturgy, sculpture, scenography, and live art direction.
She is a graduate of Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, holding a Master of Arts in Performance: Design and Practice.

Her practice, grounded in embodied research and fieldwork, spans performance, sculptural scenography, site-specific interventions, and moving image. Informed by an eco-feminist perspective, Nasia explores the notion of land as both a geological and discursive environment. Approaching creation from a metaphysical vantage point, she intricately weaves together natural landscapes and geographies with the emotional topographies of grief and passing; drawing connections to cosmic time and deep ecology. Through this lens, many times her work invites a contemplation of layered realities, embracing the complexities and ruptures between body, environment, materiality and memory.

Her recent works have been presented at Fundacion Andreani (Buenos Aires), Warsaw Fringe (Sauna Space), Espace nonono (Paris), Vorfluter (Berlin), Prague Quadrennial of Performance and Space, Glogauair (Berlin), ETKO Winery (Limassol), Dance House (Limassol), Barbican Centre’s gardens (London), Platform Theatre (Kings Cross), and the Point Centre for Contemporary Art (Nicosia), among others.

Alongside her solo practice, Nasia engages in collaborative roles as a visual dramaturg, scenographer, artistic researcher, and site-specific artist. She has participated in residencies across Argentina, Chile, Spain, Greece, France, Italy, Germany, and Cyprus.
